I’m a perpetual student of photography. I got my first camera when I was 9. It was plastic and it melted when I left it in the dashboard of our family car in Tucson, AZ. I graduated from plastic to more substantial point and shoots of various types until a couple of years ago when I moved up to a DSLR
In an effort to learn more about how to use a DSLR and be a better photographer I’ve taken classes, gone on workshops, read books and blogs and joined photography related Meetup groups. After I went on one of these workshops, someone asked me if I learned anything. I had to think about that…not because I think I already know everything..but because I hadn’t stopped to reflect on the learning aspect of the workshop. It was a trip to Yosemite, I had a great time, met a lot of nice people…but did I learn anything? I’ve also spend time most days reading a bunch of blogs..am I learning anything from them?
In an effort to answer those questions, I decided to write about what I’ve learned. I remember things better when I write them down and the process will force me to think more about what I’m doing and why as I’m “Finding My Way…Through Photography”
